NY wins first championship since 1964

The two teams facing off for a Little League World Series Championship will be United States victor Endwell, New York versus worldwide victor Seoul, South Korea.

Maine-Endwell, a town of 17,000 located an hour southeast of Ithaca in the Binghamton area, brought the title back home to NY for the first time in decades.

Yoomin Lee homered in the fifth for the team from Seoul.

Maine-Endwell returned to the Binghamton area of NY after a completing a ideal run that ended with a Little League World Series championship. South Korea, meanwhile, beat the team from Aguadulce, Panama (KOR 7, PAN 2) to win the International Championship.

Harlost, the next batter, singled, and Rush followed, driving in the go-ahead run with a single behind the shortstop.

“It’s just been incredible”, Abbadessa said. Minho Choi struck out with runners on first and second to end the game. “It’s been fun the whole week and we’re glad that it turned out this way”. A passed ball by catcher Wontae Cho brought him another run to give NY a 2-0 lead.

Jon Luke Simmons broke up Mancini’s no-hit bid in the top of the fifth.

NY is undefeated and has shown their offensive power in the tournament, outscoring opponents 27-15.

Carlos Gonzalez got Panama started in the inning with a two-run homer to center.

NY players said they knew they had a great team as soon as they reconvened earlier this summer. “I don’t think I have had anyone clap for me before now I got a whole town clap for me because of my son and what this team did”.

“It was all of our last years in Little League, so it’s just awesome to know we all came together and we’re the best team in the world”, Conner Rush said.
