NYC weather: Rain for Monday and Tuesday, then sun returns

That’s 11 degrees colder than the average high temperature of 66 for April 12 in the St. Louis metropolitan area. A cold front swings, through producing northwest winds around 10-15 miles per hour, and, they will usher in cooler air for the day.

The chance of rain increases to 40 percent Wednesday night.

Highs will be in the mid 70s for Thursday and Friday with winds gradually increasing to gusts 15-20 miles per hour.

The National Weather Service said sunshine and high temperatures mostly in the 60s will stretch to Sunday, with a high of 70 a possibility on Sunday.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 33.

Just about everyone will avoid rainfall today, though, with a dry sunny afternoon giving way to a clear, mild night. The overnight low is expected to be near 44.

Looking ahead: Temperatures will cool back down again through the week as cloudy skies remain in place.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 58.

Wednesday will feature a few more inland showers, but will otherwise be another dry sunny day with temperatures in the middle 80s.

There is a 30 percent chance of showers Wednesdays, mostly in the afternoon.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, high near 68. At this time the best chance of rain will be Sunday and Monday with smaller chances Saturday and even Tuesday.
