“I went to eat with her at the Chop House Saturday night”.

Of several anxious Princeton residents who spoke with the Boston Globe, one father said his two young daughters often jog in the same area. They say “nothing has been ruled in or out” in the death of Vanessa Marcotte.

Marcotte, who lives in New York City, was visiting family for the weekend when she went for a jog on Sunday.

At Vetrano’s funeral, her mother, Cathy, said, “My daughter is a force to be reckoned with”, the Daily News reported. Her body was found by police at around 8pm that evening on the same street as her mother’s house, but without any clothes and a series of freaky burns on different parts of her body. In a statement Monday, the company said it is “deeply shocked and saddened”.

Police are investigating Marcotte’s death as a homicide. According to the New York Daily News, police have recovered DNA from the scene but have yet to identify a suspect.

Police say one of three people who fell from a Ferris wheel during a county fair in Tennessee suffered a head injury and remains hospitalized in serious condition.

The murder comes less than a week after another young woman, Karina Vetrano, 30, was slain while jogging in Queens, New York. The town of 3,500 is located about 40 miles west of Boston. The police don’t know if this was a random act or if Marcotte was targeted by someone.

When asked about a similar incident that took place at Spring Creek Park in Queens, N.Y. on August 2, Early said they haven’t ruled anything out but said they haven’t sent investigators to New York City.

Marcotte had been working as an account manager for Google since January 2015. She was reported missing Sunday after she didn’t return home. Authorities discovered her body about a half mile from the family home.

Marcotte was a 2011 graduate of Boston University. “She knew how smart she was”.

A state police K-9 unit found the woman’s body later that evening. She said Marcotte’s mother lived with Vanessa’s aunt and uncle.

The police are urging anyone with information to into the tip line at 508-453-7589. She was found dead hours later in the woods of a quiet MA town.
