UFC fighter Paige VanZant was declared the best overall dancer of the season, but that was also pretty expected since she admitted she grew up dancing.

“Thank you for showing us your attractive heart as you dance” judge Carrie Ann Inaba said in sign language, leading DiMarco to break down in tears. The excitement among the Pompeo’s for the first-ever deaf contestant was overwhelming.

Think DiMarco deserved the DWTS win, or were you pulling for one of the runners-up? I was thinking that Paige might shock us all and win this season, but that was not the case.

The pair were fan favorites throughout the competition and DiMarco was hailed for being able to dance so well despite not being able to hear.

Speaking after their win, Peta said: ‘This is such an incredible feeling. And DiMarco has proven since day one that he is always up for a challenge, and has a natural ability to connect with the audience and to move them. Even grumpy Len Goodman was in awe: “You said that’s a dance for deaf people … that was a dance for everyone”, Goodman said. “Our dance is for millions of deaf people”, he said. For VanZant and Ballas, that meant 24-hours to put together a Jive/Salsa mash-up to “Little Bitty Pretty One”. Sound off in the comments section below. Meanwhile, fellow judge Bruno Tonioli said, “That was beyond dancing, that was a work of art”. Len Goodman said that if DWTS was based exclusively on dance ability, Paige would be the one to beat in the competition.

We saw a special performance from a couple of the female dance pros as they danced to Jennifer Lopez’s “Ain’t Your Mama”. He really appreciated that she had shown him so much support and he was thrilled that she really cared for him throughout the season.

On “GMA”, he additionally praised “DWTS” judge Carrie Ann Inaba, who used sign language to speak with him on the “DWTS” finale. She’s a hard worker and a good person.

Our sincerest congrats to DiMarco, who is very deserving of the honor. “Because you’ve spoken to us so eloquently in our language of dance, I want to say this to you and I hope I get it right”.

“That’s what really touched me because that’s my goal every week”, DiMarco explained. Many students at the school were cheering for DiMarco.
