Paige VanZant & Mark Ballas did a Salsa for their redemption dance that earned scores of 10-9-10. The final three teams – Ginger Zee with Valentin Chmerkovskiy, Nyle with Peta, and Paige VanZant with Mark Ballas – were neck-and-neck in judges’ scores right up until the end.
DiMarco, a spokesperson for Language Equality and Acquisition for Deaf Kids (LEAD-K), worked with California legislators to pass a bill aimed at alleviating language deprivation for deaf children ages 0-5, and is now lobbying for a national bill mandating bilingualism in American Sign Language and English for Deaf children.
On Tuesday night, the couple’s “mistake” was called out by the judges, but they said that Zee doing an adlib moment was actually part of their plan. It was jam-packed of your favorite music, all dance styles and all your favorite celebrity and pro pairings. “This face has to make them proud”.
Nyle and Peta got their flawless 30. His finale performance, a combination of cha-cha/tango, was high-energy and flawless.
America’s votes and the scores combined with their scores from the past two weeks decide the victor. In fact, it was one of most competitive installments to date. The first hour was full of featured performances of all the season’s dancers.
Girl group Fifth Harmony also made a special appearance to perform new single “Flex”.
Then, came the time to perform and present their best for one last time in this season.
Ginger and Val danced the Argentine tango fused with a foxtrot and scored 27. But the victor could be only one.
As soon as their names were announced, Nyle and Peta were surrounded and hoisted up on shoulders by fellow contestants for their win.
