Although a judge scheduled one of Buffalo’s newest hockey standouts to appear in court on Thursday, his hearing is now postponed for another month.

The case of Buffalo Sabres center Ryan O’Reilly, charged with impaired driving following a crash last month outside a cafe and bake shop in Lucan, Ontario has been put over until September.
A lawyer made a brief appearance on his behalf today.
The alleged incident occurred just a week after O’Reilly signed the richest contract in Buffalo Sabres history, at seven years, $52.5 million.
Police say a green pick-up truck was driven into the side of a Tim Hortons in Lucan, Ont., a community north of London, around 4 a.m., before driving away.
The court case stems from an incident in mid-July, in which O’Reilly reportedly drove his truck into a Tim Horton’s restaurant. The vehicle was located on Harold Court, while both occupants were found on Main Street.
O’Reilly was arrested at the scene and taken to OPP headquarters for breath testing.
According to AM 980 London, O’Reilly was not at the London court house this morning.
The 24-year-old forward who was traded to the Sabres from the Colorado Avalanche in late June, was charged with “driving a motor vehicle while ability impaired” and “failing to remain at the scene of an accident”.

In six seasons with the Colorado Avalanche, O’Reilly has compiled 90 goals and 156 assists.
