Oakland cops fatally shoot armed man

The officers were towing vehicles involved in a sideshow – which involved hundreds of vehicles spinning and performing “donuts” – when they were approached by someone pointing a firearm in their direction, according to police. Several officers then discharged their weapons, killing the subject. After the subject was shot, the officers immediately performed CPR until medical personnel arrived on scene.

No CHP officers were injured.

An independent and concurrent investigation is also being conducted by the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office.

An Oakland sideshow turned violent, early Sunday morning.

At one point, as many as 200 cars took over a section of Interstate 880 near High Street. At about the 15 second mark of the video, you can see several people jumping up and down on top of police cars.

Authorities received word of the shooting near 90th and Bancroft avenues at 5:34 p.m., Officer James Moore said. The officers fatally shot the individual.
