Oakland Raiders at Detroit Lions

This Raiders offense is scary good when they are all in sync and after last weeks loss at home, I think they are going to come into this game hungry and dominate against the Lions. It’s why offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter’s decision to call a quarterback draw in the fourth quarter of the Lions’ 18-13 win over the Oakland Raiders on Sunday was quite surprising.

Here’s who the Raiders have lost to this season: the Vikings (now 7-2), the Bengals (8-0), the Broncos (7-2), the Steelers (6-4) and the Bears (4-5), the only current team with a losing record to have beaten the Raiders.

Unfortunately for the Raiders, Carr was right. “You gets W’s or you get L’s. We needed to get that back”. The defense smothered the Raiders and shut down a team has been coming around.

Raiders quarterback Derek Carr scrambles during the second half of a game against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, November 22, 2015, in Detroit.

The second-year signal caller completed 13-of-25 passes for 169 yards, no touchdowns or interceptions for a quarterback rating of 73.6. Autry’s was also on third down and forced a punt, which the Raiders turned into a Sebastian Janikowski field goal that gave them their first lead at 10-9 in the third quarter.

The Lions (3-7) have won consecutive games for the first time this year.

The offense felt confident, having scored on three straight possessions. The Raiders defense suddenly can not stop the run, allowing a combined 458 yards on the ground in the two games.

Just two weeks ago, the Oakland Raiders were on a roll after two wins against San Diego and the NY Jets. The pass rush needs to step up and put some real heat on Matthew Stafford. It’s the same answer Del Rio gave when Oakland couldn’t cover tight ends earlier in the season. He obviously wasn’t taken No. 4 overall by the Raiders back in May to have games like that. Now back to the Raiders’ signal caller.

Simple summary: The Raiders are 4-5 and have beaten every bad team on their schedule.

Oakland Raiders receiver Amari Cooper had just one catch on four targets on Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

In his first three seasons with the Broncos, Brock Osweiler threw a total of 30 passes. Head coach Jack Del Rio recognizes the drops but seems to think keeping him more involved is the answer.

Again, that’s obviously a strong step forward from last season’s 3-13 debacle, and that’s enough for this locker room to believe it can take one more big step soon.

Penn was upset with himself after the game.

MARKDOWN: I changed my mind minutes later, however, when during a timeout break I overheard a replay official in the press box say that Crabtree did in fact seem to make the catch. “I wish I could’ve done something different”. He was going down.

“That’s my job. My job is to help prepare our offense and our team to win football games, and no matter what’s going on around me, that’s what I’m going to do”. However, in the last two games, a team that looked primed to become a legitimate opponent behind an explosive and young offensive core has fallen flat and well below expectations they built for themselves so far in the second half of the season.

“It’s huge”, said defensive lineman Jason Jones, who recorded a sack. “The chips will fall where they fall”.
