Oakland Raiders, Charles Woodson earn OT win in home finale
The Raiders want a new home that can make them more money, and the only plan on the table right now is a joint project with the San Diego Chargers in the Los Angeles suburb of Carson. The St. Louis Rams are seeking to relocate in the Los Angeles area and build a stadium in Inglewood.

His final home game behind him, Oakland Raiders cornerback Charles Woodson took the chance to address his fans one last time.
“It’s been a joy for me to come back and play here for a second time around”, Said Woodson, who took one snap on offense in overtime and was stopped for 3-yard loss on a run-pass option.
“I was a little under the weather and didn’t play that well”, he said.
And on fourth-and-3, Philip Rivers’ pass went incomplete, and the Raiders had their victory for Woodson’s Oakland swan song. “Gutsy performance. We wanted in the worst way to deliver that for Charles and our fans”.
Then, just minutes after the final home game of his Hall of Fame career was over, after teammates surrounded him and doused him with water, Woodson was handed a microphone and bellowed to the crowd. The safety announced Monday that he would retire after this season, his 18th in the NFL. Rookie Clive Walford made a 22-yard reception early, but disappeared for the remainder of the game.
Carr completed 24 of 39 passes for 209 yards and one touchdown with one interception. San Diego elected to take the points off the board and it looked like the risk would pay off. Rivers hit Ladarius Green for a 30-yard touchdown. Running back Latavius Murray ran for 79 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries while adding six catches for 62 yards. “And it doesn’t make it any easier on us to lose another one like that”.
But the backbreaker came with 5:02 left in the game, when tight end David Johnson caught a pass out in the flat and was stripped of the ball by linebacker Malcolm Smith.
And Woodson, more than anybody, understood that, too. It is the system on which I’ve played a majority of my fantasy football over the years – and now play. “I just continue to coach football and have our guys as prepared as possible”. “I was nearly in the end zone”.
The Raiders ended up kicking the go-ahead field goal, then Woodson was back on the field on defense to stop the Chargers’ last attempt.

“Our players fought there until the bitter end”, Chargers coach Mike McCoy said. “It helped save us three points, and we were able to get the win”. We’ve got to use everyone we’ve got. Rivers had no answer for Sebastian Janikowski’s 31-yard field goal, though, failing to convert a fourth down on the Chargers’ first series of the extra frame.2. But Lambo missed this time from 48 yards, and the Raiders were still alive. However, after a video review, the pass was ruled incomplete because the ball hit the ground when Green landed in the end zone. The Raiders also succeeded on a two-point conversion, which made the difference since Lambo forced it into overtime with a field goal.
