The Saints franchise quarterback has agreed to a one-year extension that will make him $44.25 million guaranteed over the next two seasons, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. His salary cap number lowers this season from $30 million to $17.25 million.

“I’m humbled and honored, and have been since the day I first set foot here as a New Orleans Saint”, Brees said, per Michael David Smith of NBCSports.com. He has led the league in passing yards the past two years and has eclipsed the 5,000-yard passing mark four times during his illustrious career.
Since joining the Saints 10 years ago, Brees has thrown for 48,555 yards and 348 touchdowns.
