Obama believes Congress will back Iran deal

They will have blood on their hands.

Co-op City’s Congressman, who represents a local constituency that is counted among Obama’s most reliable strongholds, stressed, “The main part (about the agreement) that I find most objectionable is you look at Iran’s behavior these past years when they had no money and they were still a leading sponsor of global terrorism“.

The itinerary – the borders with Syria and Lebanon, the Yad Vashem memorial, Masada, etc. – for the 22 Democrats (who returned Tuesday) and 36 Republicans (who are still there) was pretty much the same as on prior trips, according to a source with knowledge of the trip. But at the end of the day, despite some positive elements in the deal, the totality compelled me to oppose it…

“What I see in Hillary Clinton is possibly the most qualified person in my lifetime to run for president”, said Mr. Dinowitz, the chair of the Bronx Democratic County Committee (second in command of the Bronx’s Democratic Party, behind Assemblyman Marcos Crespo). “I have to base my vote on what’s in my heart”.

The deal accomplishes none of these goals.

Levin and former Sen. On Tuesday, the junior senator from California, Barbara Boxer, came out for the agreement.

The Republican controlled Congress is expected to give a vote of disapproval when the legislation meets the floor in September.

Speaking at a news conference during an annual congressional trip to Israel, he said there’s “very [much] a possibility” that there could be enough votes for the override, which the administration has said would sink the deal.

Republican Senator Steve Daines has already said he is against the deal. “That’s where we gotta get 13 Democrats”.

However, he said that since 2003, Iran has not pursued a weapon to the best knowledge of the U.S. and others.

“There is no better option to prevent an Iranian nuclear weapon”, the letter said. “And that’s why it would be so damaging to the standing of the United States for the United States Congress to act unilaterally to kill this deal”, he said. Congress’ role has been invaluable, in partnership with the administration, in implementing the crippling sanctions that brought Iran to the table. Bloomberg called on Congress to “make its own hard and careful assessment of the agreement”, noting that it can not fully do so until it has access to all of the related side deals.

Rep. Deutch echoed these same concerns.

So why should anyone believe American intelligence officials when they express confidence that they can monitor Iran’s compliance with the just-completed nuclear agreement?
