Obama calls for NC’s anti-transgender bill to be repealed
Speaking Friday, Obama said, “I want everybody here in the United Kingdom to know that the people of North Carolina and MS are wonderful people”. Obama says Americans in those states are “wonderful people” and that British citizens should feel free to come and enjoy themselves. “And I think you’ll be treated with extraordinary hospitality”. “In light of recent legislation in North Carolina and MS, I stand aside my fellow musicians.to help overturn these absurd new laws”, Frampton said.

President Barack Obama called for House Bill 2 in North Carolina to be overturned in a news conference Friday with British Prime Minister David Cameron. “They are handsome states”, Mr. Obama told reporters Friday.
Less than a third of the state’s legislators answered in a statewide survey whether they’d prefer to amend the law or leave it as-is when their session starts Monday.
Obama also said that the move to pass the laws was motivated not exclusively by animus, but by political considerations and some lawmakers’ sincerely held convictions.

North Carolina passed the Public Facilities Privacy & Security Act on March 24, banning anyone from using a public bathroom not intended for their biological sex as.
With the restrictions against LGBT persons in MS and North Carolina, Washington Post wrote of the Foreign Office of the United Kingdom recently issued a warning to any of its British citizens considering travel of the discrimination they could possibly encounter in these states due to their sexual orientation or gender identity.
“The guidance we have put out – the Foreign Office gives advice on travel and it obviously deals with laws and situations as they are and it tries to give that advice dispassionately and impartially and it is very important that it does so”.

“What is surprising is that more of the leaders in the music business have not come forward to support the groundswell of artists and managers who have opposed this discriminatory law”, Rapino said in an interview with The Real. The law also makes clear local measures can’t expand anti-discrimination protections for sexual orientation or gender identity. In the mountainous west of North Carolina, for instance, towns like Asheville are known for their inclusiveness and progressiveness compared to the more conservative eastern half of the state.
