Obama Calls Out Trump & GOP on Facts
The 70-year-old NY businessman will use his speech to formally accept the Republican presidential nomination.

Today’s walk-through for Donald Trump and daughter Ivanka at the podium where they will each speak Tonight Was Customary.
Underscoring his unorthodox candidacy, Mr Trump set out the hardline immigration policies that fired up conservatives in the Republican contest, but broke with many in his party by promising protections for gays and lesbians. On day 1, anti-Trump delegates caused commotion when they tried to force a roll call vote to try and unbind delegates.
“In this race for the White House, I am the law and order candidate”, Trump said.
“The problems we face now – poverty and violence at home, war and destruction overseas – will last only as long as we continue relying on the same politicians who created them”, Trump will say. Mrs. Trump was in the arena to watch her husband give his acceptance speech, perhaps the biggest speech of his very public life. Trump – who has been known to make a controversial statement or two during his campaign rallies – must avoid rhetorical bombs that will overshadow coverage of the speech itself.
Trump’s kids had less problematic appearances. If you want to watch the event without also being subjected to constant analysis and commercial interruptions, you can live stream the GOP convention on its official Republican YouTube channel below.
He also declared that, two days after Cruz was loudly booed at the Republican National Convention for not endorsing the new nominee, he would never accept the Texas senator’s backing.
Ted Cruz doesn’t. And, really, why should he? “Vote your conscience”, he said.
“This has always been the philosophy of the Trump Organization”, Trump said of the company founded by her dad.
Mike Pence’s speech accepting the vice presidential nomination took place outside primetime because Cruz ran well over his allotted speaking time and thoroughly eclipsed Pence’s moment in the sun.
Trump’s speech was created to set the tone for the general election campaign against Clinton, an answer to Republicans who say the best way he can unify the divided party is to detail why the Democrat should not be elected on November 8.
Speakers lined up to denounce Clinton for the deaths of their loved ones and for putting national security at risk. On Tuesday, New Jersey governor Chris Christie, a former federal prosecutor, went as far as convening a mock trial, seeking to convict the former first lady and secretary of state. Refusing to endorse Trump doesn’t make Cruz a “coward” or, in the words of alleged human Ann Coulter, “a little bitch”; it makes Cruz the last man in the state of OH who has any idea what the hell is going on. “Beginning on January 20th 2017, safety will be restored”.
Not Paul Ryan, whose speech sounded like a rousing endorsement for someone who most certainly was not Donald Trump.
It was the most important speech of his political career and he delivered it nearly exactly as it played across a teleprompter, rarely ad-libbing.
At 11.34 pm, he concluded with a “God bless you, and good night”.

“I am with you, I will fight for you, and I will win for you”. Outside a burst of fireworks marked the end of the Republican jamboree.
