Obama can’t persuade Sanders to quit campaign

Specifically, Obama said Clinton has the “courage, compassion and heart to get the job done”.

The Clinton campaign posted the video shortly after Obama met with Sanders at the White House.

Barack Obama is now in the game. “It is unbelievable to me that the Republican Party would have a candidate who in the year 2016 makes bigotry and discrimination a corner stone of his campaign”.

And yesterday Mr Obama formally endorsed his former secretary of state as the candidate.

His speeches demanding income equality and an end to the strong influence of wealthy donors and special interests in Washington have helped energize supporters.

Thwarted presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders refused Thursday to bow out before the final Democratic primary next week, but said he would meet rival Hillary Clinton soon to foster party unity in the battle against Donald Trump.

Part of their new-found enthusiasm can be explained by the fact that they loathe Trump, who has smeared women, Muslims, Mexicans and other groups from the campaign trail. But most have continued to back him.

Sanders is vowing to run through next week’s primary contests but party leaders are hoping he will drop his presidential bid after that.

Even more daunting a task this time for party establishment to bridge the Clinton and Sanders divide was the anti-establishment sentiment Sanders had stirred up among disheartened Democratic and independent voters in this chaotic primary season. “And to create a government which represents all of us, and not just the 1 percent”. “But we will continue to fight for every vote and every delegate we can get”. A source familiar with the meeting said the pair discussed how best to work together to put forward a progressive agenda and stop Trump.

She shares Mr Sanders’ dislike of superdelegates, who are typically long-time Democratic officials and activists. That’s why I know Hillary will be so good at it. “I think he brings a lot to the table for discussion that we’ve all been talking about and that we all want”.

Clinton’s response was not without its detractors. Warren has already more or less served as Hillary’s mouth piece against human-GOP logo Donald Trump on Twitter and elsewhere, so she’ll fit right in as a key piece of Clinton’s camp and campaign strategy.
