VIENTIANE, Laos-President Barack Obama on Tuesday recognized America’s secret war in Laos and the remnants that linger here decades later, a symbolic gesture meant to move relations between the two countries beyond their dark past. “I only am answerable to the Filipino people who elected me as president”. Duterte said, adding that the Philippines had not received an apology from the United States for misdeeds committed during its colonization of the country.
Obama had better think twice about raising the issue of Philippine extra-judicial killings, said the country’s confrontational leader on Monday.
Official figures released on Sunday show that, since Duterte took office on June 30, more than2 400 people have been killed in police anti-drug operations and by suspected vigilantes. Do not throw questions.
He has also branded Pope Francis and the United States ambassador to Manila sons of w****s.
The insult was made more egregious because of who the target was – President Barack Obama.
