Obama defends comments linking Republicans opposed to nuclear deal to Iran
Sen. Ted Cruz ridiculed Gen. Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, for recently testifying that there is no military solution to defeating ISIS, and that the socio-political conditions on the ground need to change. “This is the man who tells you the Iran deal is good“. “I would say he’s incompetent, but I don’t want to do that because that’s not nice”, business tycoon Donald Trump alleged. As Secretary of State John Kerry said, if the deal collapses, “Israel could actually wind up being more isolated and more blamed”.

That mindset, he said, is “out of step with American traditions of foreign policy”.
Republican presidential candidate Lindsey Graham also slammed Obama’s over these partisan comments.
Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush accused Trump of using “divisive” language.
The candidates made no mention of Africa, where terrorist groups are seeking a foothold, and gave barely a breath to China, cybersecurity, or veterans issues.
“What’s more likely to happen should Congress reject this deal is that Iran would end up with some form of sanctions relief without having to accept any of the constraints or inspections required by this deal”, he said.
Huckabee also fanned the flames on the Iran deal.
He said Iran is not a place the US should be doing business with. “It is tied together”.
“Just because Iranian hardliners chant “Death to America” does not mean that that’s what all Iranians believe”, Obama said.
However, 151 House Democrats signed a letter in May urging Obama to reach a negotiated settlement with Iran on its nuclear program, and not one of those members has come out against the final agreement so far, according to media reports. “Only ISIS is responsible for the terrorism”, Paul backtracked.
“We didn’t create ISIS”. His solution: “not arming the allies of ISIS …” ISIS rides around in a billion dollars worth of US Humvees. The Obama administration refuses to classify the agreement as a treaty. No one noted that Congress imposed the budget caps on defense spending. How could we justify that to our troops?

Sen. Rand Paul and Gov. Chris Christie clashed over the National Security Agency, Christie wanting to expand its surveillance tools, Paul to curtail them. I do want to say this is a really big issue. “I loved The White Album”, Scarborough shot back. “And, of course, those calling for war labeled themselves strong and decisive while dismissing those who disagreed as weak, even appeasers of a malevolent adversary”.
