Bernie Sanders for the Democratic nomination, said the primary is now over and that the party must unite to defeat Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee.

US President Barack Obama has officially endorsed fellow Democrat Hillary Clinton for president, saying he did not think there had ever been a nominee “so qualified” for the White House. Reporter: Officials here at the white house and aides out at the Clinton campaign say that president Obama will be out on the campaign for Hillary Clinton repeatedly over the coming months, Michelle Obama, the first lady, will also be out there.

Obama won the state in 2008 and 2012, but Democrats expect a tough fight this year. “I thanked him for shining a spotlight on issues like economic inequality and the outsized influence of money in our politics and bringing young people into the process”, Obama said after praising Clinton.

“It is unbelievable to me … that the Republican Party would have a candidate for president who in 2016 makes bigotry and discrimination the cornerstone of his campaign”, he said.

But even though Clinton snagged some big endorsements over the past few days, she’s missing a big one: former Vice President Al Gore.

In addition to meeting with President Obama, Sanders also met with Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, who recently called for Bernie Sanders to “give up”.

At the end of April, YouGov poll found that 63 percent of Sanders’ supporters were willing to vote for Clinton.

In a scenario that I have previously dreamed about, MA senator and all-around BAMF Elizabeth Warren officially endorsed Hillary Clinton on Thursday night’s episode of The Rachel Maddow Show. Rumors are swirling that the Senator will be asked to take the Vice President spot on Hillary’s ticket after the two powerful women shared a private meeting before Elizabeth announced her endorsement.

Although he still declined to endorse Clinton at the moment.

“I think he’s made a big difference”, said Halvorson. “He wants four more years of Obama-but nobody else does!”

Earlier on Thursday, at a speech to the American Constitution Society in Washington DC, Warren hit out at Trump as “just a businessman who inherited a fortune and kept it rolling along by cheating people”.
