Obama faces vets, Jon Stewart amid concerns over Iran, VA

Stewart announced earlier this year that he will be leaving “The Daily Show” after 16 years. Also on Tuesday, Obama is facing a convention of veterans as he travels to Pittsburgh to speak to the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ national convention. Obama is booked for his seventh appearance on “The Daily Show” Tuesday as Jon Stewart is beginning his final three weeks as host of the show.

Yet Obama also says the deal will leave the next president better positioned to deal with Iran if it cheats, including the option of a USA military strike. Many Republicans and some Democrats object to the agreement, which would limit Iran’s nuclear program in return for lifting economic sanctions. The White House has been mounting a massive outreach campaign to try to win over skeptics and avert a congressional attempt to scuttle the deal.

As for Tuesday night’s appearance, it’s unclear what the tone of the interview will be. Administration officials said the new regulations, for example, will extend the protections to “payday” loans of more than $2,000 and for terms longer than 91 days.

When asked on ABC News on Sunday morning about his preference for personal attacks on people by calling them “losers”, among other things, Trump responded by saying that people always make comments about his hair.

“The way I see it, when I drive the strip outside a military installation and count 20 fast-cash lenders in less than 4 miles, that’s not a convenience, that’s a problem”, said Holly Petraeus, the assistant director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
