Obama: Global climate summit in Paris a ‘rebuke’ to terrorists
In a letter sent to US and worldwide leaders ahead of a global climate summit in Paris this month, Paxton and his West Virginia counterpart Patrick Morrisey said it would be dishonest for President Obama to make promises to cut carbon emissions just as they and other attorneys general are challenging the legality of the policy.

Scores of heads of state and government, including Obama, will attend the summit that begins next week.
“What a powerful rebuke to the terrorists it will be when the world stands as one and shows that we will not be deterred from building a better future for our children”, he said Tuesday in a news conference with French President François Hollande.
The U.N. Climate Secretariat said on Wednesday that senior officials from nearly 200 nations would meet in the conference hall on the outskirts of Paris on November 29 at 1600 GMT.
President Barack Obama will meet with representatives for India and China during the World Climate Change Conference in Paris.
Francis and the Vatican worked hard to promote action on climate change this year in the lead-up to next week’s United Nations climate conference.
The ACP said that adapting to climate change is therefore a high priority for all its members, “and especially those which are particularly vulnerable, including the small island developing states (SIDS), the less developed countries (LDCs)”.
The ACP said it welcomes to date the US$10 billion mobilised for the Green Climate Fund, which was established as an operating entity of the Financial Mechanism of the Convention, to provide support to ACP countries to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.
Besides, the European Union regarded ambitious action to prepare for and respond to the effects of climate change to be a central part of a balanced agreement, said the press release.
This is the threshold beyond which scientists warns our planet will become increasingly inhospitable – racked by superstorms, drought and land-gobbling sea level rise. The Western countries are likely to mount pressure on developing countries to compromise with their pace of development for the larger interest of the entire world.

The sources highlighted the country’s position that the developed world must recognise that they have to atone for the historical carbon emissions that they have been putting out in the atmosphere for over 150 years in their search for prosperity. India’s emission level of five per cent is much lower compared to (the) others, particularly considering it accounts for 17 per cent of (the) world human and cattle population and 2.5 per cent of the land mass. We are trying hard to achieve set goals in adverse conditions.
