Obama helps raise money for Clinton at Mass. fund-raiser
In his final summer vacation as president, Obama has spent nearly every night of his escape painting its towns red – so to speak.

President Obama and family hit the midway point of their Martha’s Vineyard vacation over the weekend, spending time on both the golf course and the beach.

The president and his family are vacationing in the MA island of Martha’s Vineyard.
Democrats Hank Goldberg and his wife, Carol Brown Goldberg, hosted the event at their home in Chilmark, the same town where the president is renting a vacation home.
The fundraiser was for a joint committee between Hillary Clinton’s campaign, the Democratic National Committee and state Democratic parties.
The White House said Obama is eager to hit the campaign trail and be as helpful as possible to fellow Democrats.
On Monday, after almost five hours of golf and about an hour at a Clinton fundraiser in Chilmark, Obama wrapped up his day at about 7 p.m.
President Obama has talked a lot about Donald Trump in the past year, but he indicated tonight that he’s getting exhausted of doing that.
On Monday, Obama called on his party to maintain a sense of urgency until the election on November 8. He endorsed her right after the primaries and caucuses ended in June.
The president also praised his work on fighting climate change, calling it “a genuine existential threat that we all face and, more importantly, our children and our grandchildren face”. He’s expected to spend much of the fall stumping for Clinton. She made her first campaign appearance with Vice President Joe Biden on Monday in his hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Obama arrived August 6 on the MA island where he has vacationed during all but one of his eight summers as president.

The Obamas landed on Martha’s Vineyard on Aug. 6, and they are scheduled to stay there through Sunday, Aug. 21.
