Obama, Hillary Clinton America’s ‘Most Admired’
Trump was in the top 10 in 1988-1990 and in 2011. Clinton is the record-holder, winning the distinction 20 times – more than the 13 times Eleanor Roosevelt was chosen.

Gallup called Trump’s showing “surprisingly strong”, explaining that because he has been in the news so much, he was likely “top-of-mind” for many Americans.
Americans named President Barack Obama their most admired man. This is the eighth time that Obama has taken that honor.
Another 2016 presidential candidate – Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton, a former first lady and secretary of State – topped the list of most admired women for the 14th straight year and 20th time overall. The most admired woman?
“Graham has been among the top 10 most admired men every year since 1955 except for 1962, in addition to 1976 when Gallup did not ask the question”, said Gallup in its analysis of the survey.
Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai and business woman Oprah Winfrey rounded out the top three women with 5 percent and 4 percent, respectively. Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, who is battling Clinton for the Democratic nomination for president, ranked fourth with 3 percent.
On the list of most admired men, Pope Francis and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump tied for second place with 5 percent each.
The poll was conducted December 2-6, surveying 824 adults nationwide via landlines and cellphones. They trail former President Dwight Eisenhower, who was named 12 times. Since 1993, the year she was first named most admired woman, Clinton has stayed in the news as first lady, US senator, secretary of state and a two-time presidential candidate. It found that 13 percent of them said they admired Clinton most of any woman “living anywhere in the world”.
