Something tells me Khizr Khan, after speaking at the Democratic National Convention about losing his son, a USA military soldier, in Iraq and telling the audience that Donald Trump is not fit to be president, would have ignored whatever Trump might have said about him.
In spite of a widening rift within his party, the unflappable Donald Trump has assured voters that all is well: “There is great unity in my campaign, perhaps greater than ever before”, the Republican presidential nominee tweeted on Wednesday. The words were the same Ryan used only weeks earlier to describe his hesitation toward Trump.

Portman’s chief challenger, Ted Strickland, a former Democratic governor, has attacked Portman for his endorsement of Trump and for not following the lead of his political bosom buddy Kasich, who isn’t standing up for Trump for the same reasons Democrats are battering him.
Hewitt also asked Woods to weigh in on the controversy over Donald Trump’s comments upon receiving a Purple Heart medal as a gift, which were that he “always wanted to get the Purple Heart”.

Now that Trump’s con didn’t con the Khan family, can he really be expected to successfully con the national voter base going forward?
