Obama is ‘fired up’ for Clinton as Democrats seek to unify party
Analysis of the Guardian poll results by SurveyUSA also hints at more positive support emerging for Clinton among the most dedicated Sanders supporters – findings that may reassure Democrats anxious about reuniting their party after a sometimes bitter primary contest. She also called out Trump’s comments – which he later walked back – that women should be punished for having an abortion.

Clinton’s account quickly responded: “Delete your account”, in a tweet to her 6.7 million Twitter followers.
Speaking to Rachel Maddow of MSNBC, Ms Warren said: “I’m ready”. “If anyone knows how to use a delete key, it’s you”, replied Reince Priebus, chairman of the Republican National Committee, in a reference to the messages Clinton deleted from the private server she used for her correspondence at the State Department. Harry Reid reportedly wants her to be the pick.
Only Clinton and Warren can judge how their personal chemistry would evolve. But did Clinton’s most conspicuous holdout this primary campaign play her cards right to get it? “And that was a surprise to both of us”.
In a three-minute-long video published on Mrs Clinton’s Facebook page, Mr Obama praised the “judgment…toughness… commitment to our values” of his former secretary of state and sometime bitter rival. And she kept her head down, found common ground, and won them over.
Hillary Clinton picked up the backing Thursday of President Barack Obama, first lady Michelle, Vice President Biden and Sen. “And so far, it’s working out pretty great”.
McConnell’s office pushed back against Warren’s criticism. I argued that by keeping her distance, Warren ensured her presence – and potentially game-changing endorsement – was felt. But, you don’t want to make it easy for him if you are a Democrat.
Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, now at the starting line of a general election race, traded shots across the capital Friday in dueling addresses before two very different D.C. audiences – each warning the other would take the country backward.
Top figures in the Democratic Party pummeled Donald Trump Thursday as they publicly coalesced around Hillary Clinton for the first time in her push for the White House. “It was a wonderful, meaning endorsement in every way”, said Clinton, sipping an iced chai, during a stop at a muffin store in Washington.
Fact: The Clinton camp is all about loyalty – perhaps to a fault, some would say. It’s something the Clintons are known for – along with punishing those who run afoul of them.
Warren had earlier told pals she was intrigued by a vice presidential bid but feared a two-woman ticket might not be the best way to defeat Trump. Warren got lots of attention on Thursday night for endorsing Clinton.
“The American people will not vote for or tolerate a candidate who insults Mexicans and Latinos; who insults Muslims; who insults African-Americans and women”, Sanders told reporters at the White House.
Such a pairing would be big news and bring new possibilities to the presidential race and a potential Clinton presidency.
The careful choreography was part of the Democrats’ attempt to show some respect to the senator, even as they steered him toward the campaign off-ramp. He claims that Clinton has prevailed because she’s taken “a more traditionally female approach to leadership: creating coalitions, finding common ground, and winning over allies” (how novel!) but he doesn’t explain why we should consider these tactics “less masculine” than anything else required by the symbolic leader of a major party.

It’s hard to say whether that’s actually the case.
