The team had one of the best defenses of all time and one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time in Peyton Manning.

The Broncos’ day included a tour of the White House, and several members of the team, including Kubiak and Manning, met with members of the Wounded Warriors program before the ceremony and Manning threw some passes with the veterans.

Super Bowl MVP Von Miller described the whole White House scene as “surreal” – though he made a point of recalling that Obama said he liked his shoes: a pair of cosmic kicks that somehow blended the colors of red, blue and green.

President Obama started Monday’s ceremony on a light note, mimicking the retired Broncos quarterback. According to Thomas, Obama said “he’s looking into that to try to help her out, as well”.

He did have a few jokes while giving out his speech, including talking to Emmanuel Sanders about the 4.4 40 yard dash and how Brandon McManus was the “heart and soul” of the team’s offensive firepower.

‘Nobody remembers, ‘ he said.

“Anyone who has been a football fan, who has watched one of the greatest football careers ever, racking up more wins, MVPs, passing yards and touchdowns than anybody in history”. “But as somebody who is just a little bit older than he is, I was sympathetic to the idea that running around with these guys, it takes its toll”, Obama, 54, said of Manning, 40.

‘But it is great to see somebody with a career like that, who always conducted himself on the field and off the field the way he did, be able to go out on top’. It was a grand reunion and a motivator for the current Broncos to make a return trip to meet the President (whoever he or she may be) again next year.

“There’s been a few months pass since we shared that special game or that special moment as a team, and this kind of is a chance to get everybody back together, spend a day together and recall what exactly happened that day”. I know he is a Denver fan. Wade Phillips, Broncos defensive coordinator, tweeted before the event.

“I will continue to root for the Bears”, he said to laughter.
