Obama Made a Summer Playlist? So Did Hillary and Trump
In the past, Obama has shared playlists with the public when he was running for election in 2008, when he was seeking reelection in 2012 and when he was being inaugurated for his second term in office. I’m starting to just be excited for whatever he’s going to be doing next.

President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama prepare to greet Singapore’s prime minster, Lee Hsien Loong and his wife, Ho Ching, at he White House during an official arrival ceremony in Washington, D.C., on August 2.
The indie rock ballad is sandwiched between Leon Bridges’ Smooth Sailin’ and Home by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.
Obama’s summer playlist is split into two parts – one for daytime and the other for the evening. The playlist mixes timeless classics by artists such as The Beach Boys and Aretha Franklin with newer hits by artists such as Chance the Rapper and Courtney Barnett, and the playlist’s blend perfectly proves that Obama is our first president with hipster credentials.
Too bad this is his final summer playlist.
Wigmore took to Twitter to thank Obama for the mention, writing: “As a musician and a recently inducted American resident, I’d like to say thanks to my mate Barack Obama for this”. But this omission is hardly indicative of some greater conspiracy against Beyoncé, especially because her most recent album Lemonade isn’t available to stream anywhere but Tidal, so there was no option to include any tracks from it on these Spotify playlists even if Obama wanted to.

Notable absences from both lists include Beyonce, one of his favourite artists who has featured on previous lists, and Kendrick Lamar, who he invited to his 55th birthday and 4th of July parties. It went gold in Australia with 35,000 sales.
