Obama Officially Endorses Clinton for President

“Obviously I value his opinion a great deal personally”, she said. I have seen her toughness.

Clinton turned over some 30,000 emails to State Department officials after she stepped down from the job in 2013.

Democratic leaders and pundits have reportedly urged Sanders to stop campaigning and instead back Clinton.

“Donald Trump would clearly, to my mind, and I think to the majority of Americans, be a disaster as president of the United States”, he said.

But on Tuesday, when Clinton made American history by becoming the first woman to win the nomination of a major party – technically, she is the presumptive nominee – an ungracious Sanders failed to even his tip his hat to her.

The septuagenarian emerged from the White House vowing to continue his fight into next week – but also saying he would meet Clinton soon to find ways to work together.

In that election Obama bested Clinton to become the first black president. The White House acknowledged it had taped Obama’s endorsement video on Tuesday, before Clinton claimed victory in the primary.

The campaign Sanders built is valuable to Clinton. Still looking like a candidate, Sanders planned a rally Thursday evening in Washington, which holds the final primary contest next week.

But the timing could raise questions about the vice president’s plans.

According to Politico, Kunoor Ojha, who was a field organized for President Barack Obama in 2008, will be Clinton’s national campus and student organizing director. Obama has been trying to give Sanders the courtesy of exiting the race on his own terms.

The liberal lawmaker increasingly has tangled with Trump, taking on an attack-dog role that she seems able to execute more effectively than other Democrats, including Clinton herself.

“I know there’s been a lot of speculation about this”, Warren said, adding “the truth is I love the work I do”. She said she waited, because she believes the debate that took place was constructive for the party. The presidential candidate said Obamacare was a good step to fighting this inequality, but the country should enact a Medicare-for-all type system.

Obama’s endorsement comes just hours after his meeting with Senator Bernie Sanders about the status of his campaign.

Sanders was then welcomed on Capitol Hill by Senator Harry Reid, the top Democrat in the Senate.

“With the D.C. primary coming up on June 14, Bernie will be holding a conversation about the issues that matter to him: making college tuition-free, getting big money out of politics, combating climate change and much more”, a statement from the Vermont senator’s campaign said. He was asked if Obama’s endorsement sends a signal to FBI agents investigating her emails to resolve the case in her favor. Sanders is 507 delegates away from winning the primary, while Clinton has already reached the threshold to secure the nomination.

“Bernie’s going to do the right thing”, Grijalva said.
