Three Baton Rouge law enforcement officers were killed and three others were injured in a shooting Sunday morning about a mile from police headquarters, officials say.

“We as a nation have to be loud and clear that nothing justifies violence against law enforcement”, Obama said, speaking from the White House press briefing room.
“Despite the tragic and unfortunate events that have plagued the law enforcement nationwide the last couple of days, we will continue to protect our communities and the people we serve”, Schillari said in a statement.
“For the second time in two weeks, multiple law enforcement officers have been killed in the line of duty”, Lynch said in a statement.
Nearly six minutes pass after the first shots are reported before police say they have determined the shooter’s location.
Three of those have died.
Gov. John Bell Edwards told media Sunday afternoon that the gunman committed, “an absolutely unspeakable, heinous attack”.
Authorities say three law enforcement officers have been killed and three have been injured in a shooting in Louisiana. Investigators believe the burglary was part of a larger plot to attack police officers, WAFB reported.
Brady Vancel says the man looked like a pedestrian running with a rifle in his hand, rather than someone trained to move with a rifle.
The Henderson Police Department announced Sunday that all officers will patrol in two-officer units.
He said that authorities believe the “scene is contained, ” meaning that a shooter was unlikely on the loose.
Republican Donald Trump is blaming a “lack of leadership” for Sunday’s shooting of police officers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Five of the officers were transported to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. Another officer was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, hospital officials said.
“An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us”, he said.
Kip Holden, the mayor-president of East Baton Rouge Parish, said “everything is moving fast”.
Police-community relations in Baton Rouge have been especially tense since the death of 37-year-old Alton Sterling, a black man killed by white officers July 5 after a scuffle at a convenience store.
Terrance Carter, Sterling’s nephew, said his family just wants things to be peaceful and that his uncle would not want this. The killing was captured on widely circulated cellphone video.
“The movement began as a call to end violence”, he said.
The city is on high alert after three officers were shot and killed Sunday morning.
Michelle Rogers and her husband drove near the shooting scene, but were blocked at an intersection closed by police.
“I can’t explain what brought us here”, she said.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Baton Rouge Police”, Dallas police Chief David Brown said on Twitter.
