President Barack Obama will soon spare two turkeys named for one of the nation’s most admired presidents, continuing a White House tradition for the Thanksgiving holiday.

In China, though, one social media user suggested a more suitable use of a presidential pardon this year.
“Some of you caught that”, added the President with a laugh.
Flanked by daughters Malia and Sasha, the USA president gave the pardon in the gardens of the presidential mansion.
“If for some reason Abe can’t fulfill his duties to walk around and gobble all day, Honest is in an undisclosed location ready to serve in the TOTUS line of succession”, Obama said, referencing the Turkey of the United States.
“As Americans travel this weekend to be with their loved ones, I want them to know that our counterterrorism, intelligence, homeland security and law enforcement professionals at every level are working overtime”, Obama said.
“…Given the shocking images, I know that Americans have been asking each other where – whether it’s safe here, whether it’s safe to fly or gather”, he said, referring to the series of strikes on November 13 in Paris that killed 130 people.
