Obama praises Hillary as most qualified ever to run for president

“Let me tell you, it was tough, because Hillary’s tough”.

Virginia Senator Tim Kaine took the stage to “humbly” accept his party’s nomination for vice-president and then go on the attack.

“But what we heard in Cleveland last week wasn’t particularly Republican – and it sure wasn’t conservative. What we heard was a deeply pessimistic vision of a country where we turn against each other, and turn away from the rest of the world. There were no serious solutions to pressing problems – just the fanning of resentment, and blame, and anger, and hate”. It was a significant shift in tone after two nights spent reintroducing Clinton to voters as a champion for children and families, and relishing in her historic nomination as the first woman to lead a major political party into the general election.

“Imagine him in the Oval Office facing a real crisis”, she said.

“Have you even read the US Constitution?”

Now he seems to like her just fine and wants, very much, for Democratic voters to like her, too-despite the fact that she’s facing high unfavorables in the polls. Allen was Deputy Commander of U. S. Central Command and a former commander of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation mission in Afghanistan.

The former first lady, USA senator and secretary of state on Thursday will step out of the shadows of presidents past and present for her moment to convince Americans that she is the best choice to helm a nation looking for a new era of leadership.

American flags waved in the stands of the packed convention hall and the crowd broke into chants of “U-S-A!” drowning out scattered calls of “No more war”. Meccano said Clinton supporters argued Sanders supporters should vote for her to stop Trump, but Meccano rejected the argument.

The convention closes Thursday night with an address from Clinton.

Democrats have found in Trump a target as unifying as Clinton has been for the GOP.

The FBI’s investigation into Clinton’s use of a private internet server didn’t result in criminal charges, but it did appear to deepen voters’ concerns with her honesty and trustworthiness.

The divided Democratic Party scrambled to rescue the four-day convention from a political uproar as the disclosure of almost 20,000 emails from the DNC has reopened the bruising wounds from the primary season. “And that, in the end, may be the biggest difference in this election-the meaning of our democracy”.

With approval ratings topping 50 percent, aides said, Obama is in a desirable political position heading into the fall to act as Clinton’s surrogate-in-chief.

“Powerful forces are threatening to pull us apart, but we will not build a wall”, she said.

Assuring he has seen firsthand Clinton’s “intelligence, judgment, and her discipline”, Obama also borrowed Clinton’s campaign slogan. That’s why “Stronger Together” is not just a lesson from our history. A parade of speakers – gay and straight, young and old, white, black and Hispanic – cast Trump as out-of-touch with a diverse and fast-changing nation.

Biden, with sardonic Irish sass, called Trump a man who “has no clue, period”. “I ask you to carry her the same way you carried me, because you’re who I was talking about 12 years ago when I talked about hope”, he said, harking back to his own campaign.

As he offered an enthusiastic primetime endorsement of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, Obama implored the public “to reject cynicism, reject fear, to summon what’s best in us”.

The program paid tribute to law enforcement officers killed on duty, including five who died in Dallas earlier this month in retaliation for officer-involved shootings in Minnesota and Louisiana.

Wednesday night’s Democratic lineup was aimed at emphasizing Clinton’s own national security credentials.

The New York Times’ Ross Douthat added that the president’s speech was one “to make Republican elites feel sickened (as they should be) by what their party has nominated”. On the heels of reports that Russian Federation may have hacked Democratic Party emails, Trump said, “Russia, if you’re listening”, it would be desirable to see Moscow find and publish the thousands of emails Clinton says she deleted during her years as secretary of state.
