Obama says Trump ‘unfit’, challenges GOP to drop support
Trump responded by saying Khan “viciously attacked” him. McSally has said she won’t endorse Trump, but she may vote for him.

When Khizr and Ghazala Khan – the Gold Star parents of Capt. Humayun Khan, an American soldier killed in Iraq – attacked Trump with a stinging personal rebuke at the Democratic National Convention, they did Hillary Clinton a big favor. Obama asked during a White House news conference.
“What does this say about your party that this is your standard-bearer?”
“He’s not a war hero”, Trump said.
In an emotional appearance at last week’s convention, Khizr Khan criticized Trump for proposing to temporarily freeze the entry of foreign Muslims into the US and accused him of making no sacrifices for his country. The woman asked Pence how he can tolerate what called Trump’s constant disrespect of American service members.
“Yes, I think the Republican nominee is unfit to serve as President”.
Derek Davey’s son Seamus was killed in the Iraq in 2005 while serving in the Marines.
While Cantor’s statement said his denouncement of Trump was unrelated to politics, he did mention a Monmouth County Republican Committee fundraiser held on July 7 called the “Star-Spangled Spectacular”. His surrogates has suggested that Trump has sacrificed his first two marriages in all his job-creating stress and the Khizr Kahn is a secret agent of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Celeste Zappala, who also signed the letter, said the grief that Gold Star families suffer earns them the right to say whatever they want. But there has to come a point at which you say somebody who makes those kinds of statements doesn’t have the judgment, the temperament, the understanding to occupy the most powerful position in the world.
You look for the spine in the party and see it in Sens.
Maybe the reason I didn’t hear the heroic story of Humayun Khan from his parents is because, of the 300 words in Khizr Khan’s convention speech, nearly half – 134 words – were about Trump.
“We need to honor their sacrifice for our country and we need to honor their son’s sacrifice for our country”, Christie added.
Khan also has highlighted what is increasingly becoming a concern for the electorate: that Trump is in over his head and has little idea how to govern. However, Trump, as his wont, exploited the poor woman’s emotions to fulfill his own Islamophobic and misogynistic agenda and claimed perhaps she was not allowed to speak out because of her religion.
Trump scrambled to pivot away from taking on military families, tweeting Monday that the issue was “not about Mr. Khan, who is all over the place doing interviews, but rather RADICAL ISLAMIC TERRORISM and the US”.
Trump’s unwillingness to let the matter subside sparked outrage Monday from a chorus of Republicans.
Kooyenga said he’ll watch the presidential debates to inform his decision on who to support. He said he hoped the campaign and party could emerge from controversy because “that family deserves our respect”.
However, none of the Republican lawmakers pulled back their support of Trump’s White House campaign. Khan and his wife, Ghazala, continue to grieve for the sacrifice their son made a dozen years ago. “If I were president, his son wouldn’t have died, because I wouldn’t have been in the war, if I was president back then”.

Trump backers attending the OH rally dismissed the issue, underscoring how the businessman was able to survive numerous such firestorms in the GOP primaries. “And as I said in my speech last week, I don’t think that actually represents the views of a whole lot of Republicans out there”.
