Mr Cameron said he had fought the “only way I know how… head, heart and soul” to stay in the European Union but that voters had chosen a different path.
But Dutch Foreign Minister Bert Koenders, who an European Union meeting in Luxembourg Friday to prepare next week’s summit, said: “You can’t have your cake and eat it”.
In the most hard speech of his political career, he said he could no longer do the job when his vision for the country was so at odds with that of the people. The higher demand in USA debt is likely to pull down United States interest rates, Ylan Q. Mui wrote in The Washington Post Friday.
“I think it’s right that this new prime minister takes the decision about when to trigger Article 50”, Cameron said.
British Prime Minister David Cameron has resigned after United Kingdom voters made the historic decision to leave the European Union. Some signs are directed at Boris Johnson, the former London mayor who campaigned to leave the bloc.
“There will be no initial change in the way our people can travel, in the way our goods can move or the way our services can be sold”, Cameron said.
“It is not an amicable divorce but it was also not an intimate love affair”, he said.
Tusk told reporters that Britain’s 27 partners were “determined to keep our unity”. We will stand strong and uphold the EU’s core values of promoting peace and the well-being of its peoples.
With global markets in turmoil, Ms Merkel said it was important to “not draw quick and simple conclusions from the referendum in Great Britain, which would only further divide Europe”.
Credit rating agency Moody’s downgraded the U.K.’s economic outlook from stable to negative, saying Britain faces “a prolonged period of uncertainty … with negative implications for the country’s medium-term growth outlook”.
In a weird back-pedal some Brexit supporters have now revealed they “regret” their decision because they were “fed lies” by the Leave campaign and didn’t think that their vote would make a difference. The Conservatives are facing a leadership battle to replace Cameron, and some members of the opposition Labour Party also hope to oust their leader, Jeremy Corbyn.

Britain was a big backer of the deal, but it now risks being left out of the final agreement if it opts out of the European Union before its impending enactment.
