Obama to admit at DNC: ‘Nothing prepares you’ for White House
The problem with the second, quite apart from Hillary Clinton’s own image as the establishment personified, is that she is obviously and inescapably running as a candidate of continuity with a two-term incumbent. Even when the headlines, like the Sacramento Bee’s – noted that “Clinton shatters last political glass ceiling” – they still ran a photo of Mr. Clinton in front of the crowd. “It goes without saying that in the next several months, all of us have got to do everything that we can to defeat Donald Trump and elect Hillary Clinton the president of the United States”. He would also become the first former president to become the first spouse.

Last night wasn’t all celebratory.
Bill Clinton gave a long, personal speech about Hillary Clinton on Tuesday night at the Democratic National Convention-how they met, how he bought their first house, what it was like dropping their daughter off at college.
Trump cheered the disruptions from the campaign trail.
He spoke of her work on behalf of poor children, African-American children kept out of schools and imprisoned with adults.
Clinton’s campaign views the four-day convention as an opportunity to introduce her to voters anew.
The address will bookend Obama’s career-launching address to the Democratic convention in 2004, his contentious 2008 primary battle with Clinton and his eight years in office.
Obama gave a shout out to Sanders and his supporters _ and implored Democrats who disagreed with her on some issues to give her a chance.
But none of those disputes have been on display between the two campaigns this week, as they have attempted to join forces, even after DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz resigned amid an email scandal that proved a bias for Clinton during the primary and revealed internal deliberations over how to undermine Sanders’ candidacy.
“Hillary Clinton has the passion and understanding to support grieving mothers”, said Sybrina Fulton, whose son Trayvon Martin was killed in 2012.
“Voters don’t trust her and feel that she is not a strong leader”. Bernie Sanders asked delegates to transfer all of his votes to Clinton making it unanimous, out of unity.
AMY GOODMAN: Ahead of the roll call vote, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders was nominated by Hawaii Congressmember Tulsi Gabbard. “That struggle continues”, said Sanders.
He did not mention matters of foreign policy; Weaver indicated that those differences were far less acute than Sanders’s differences with Republican nominee Donald Trump, which is what the self-avowed democratic socialist wants to highlight from now until November.
But despite the groundbreaking nature of Bill Clinton’s possible new role, Carl Sferrazza Anthony, a historian with the National First Ladies’ Library, says the former president has already created a model for himself.

“If there are any little girls out there who stayed up late to watch, let me just say I may become the first woman president, but one of you is next”, she told the convention in Philadelphia in a video message.
