Obama: Trump is ‘petty’ and should be challenged

Outgoing President Barack Obama condemned Donald Trump as unsuitable to be commander-in-chief Thursday, after the Republican nominee blasted U.S. military brass and praised Vladimir Putin.

Obama’s reaction to Trump’s attack on his legacy comes as the real-estate magnate has attempted to contrast his foreign policy vision with Obama’s in relentless, and often creative ways.

“I don’t think the guy is qualified to be president of the United States, and every time he speaks, that opinion is confirmed”, Obama said at a press conference in Laos, closing out his final Presidential trip to Asia.

Obama said during the heat of an election “outrageous becomes normalized and people begin thinking we should begin grading on a curve”. He said that “the most important thing for the public and the press is to just listen to what he says and follow up and ask questions about what appear to be contradictory or uninformed or outright wacky ideas”. “You actually have to know what you’re talking about and you have to actually have done your homework and when you speak, it should actually reflect through out policy you can implement”.

The bombastic mogul will face Hillary Clinton in November’s election, which the Democratic former first lady is tipped to win. “Now it’s a very different system and I don’t happen to like the system, but certainly, in that system, he’s been a leader”. “I continue to believe Guantanamo is a recruitment tool for terrorism”. The plan has drawn sharp opposition from Republican lawmakers, whose approval would be required in order to move Guantanamo detainees to the US.

Obama twice laughed during the news conference when asked directly about criticisms Trump has lobbed at him.

How have we gotten to the point where it’s normal for a presidential candidate heap praise on Vladimir Putin, not understand that the military has a court system, and talk openly about purging a large chunk of senior officers from the military?

“The man has very strong control over a country”, Trump said.
