Obama has taken time out from his two-week break in Martha’s Vineyard, an island off the coast of MA, to help raise money to support Hillary Clinton’s presidential bid in the November 8 election.

He said that Clinton is not “always the flashiest, she’s not always the person who is going to give you a big stem-winder”, but he praised her as a “hardworking, diligent, smart, tenacious leader”.

Obama is slated to headline a Democratic Party fundraising dinner Monday evening on Martha’s Vineyard, the island playground off the coast of MA where he’s in the midst of a two-week vacation with his wife, Michelle, and their daughters Malia and Sasha.

The fundraiser was hosted by real estate executive Hank Goldberg and his wife Carol at their home in Chilmark.

According to the Associated Press, Clinton did not attend the fundraiser.

The proceeds will benefit Clinton’s campaign, the Democratic National Committee and state parties across the country.

The White House says Obama is trying to get the most out of the time he’s spending with family and friends before a busy fall.

“I don’t have to make the case against her opponent”, Sasha Obama said, “because every time he talks, he makes the case against his own candidacy”. He endorsed her right after the primaries and caucuses ended in June.

Adding a touch of politics to his vacation, President Barack Obama on Monday urged Democrats to campaign aggressively for the next 80 days to elect presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, saying “if we do not do our jobs, then it’s still possible for her to lose”.
