Twenty-one delegates will represent Pakistan at the 7th Annual Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) which will be held from June 22-24 in Palo Alto, California, US, according to a press release issued by the US embassy in Islamabad. Young business owners from Kenya, Peru and Egypt, shared the stage for about an hour with the president and with Zuckerberg, founder of the world’s largest and most successful social network.

It stated that in bringing the summit back to the United States, Obama has been able to highlight his commitment to building bridges that help the worldwide community tackle global challenges together. Throughout the three-day conference, which brought together more than 300 investors and over 700 businesspeople, his administration rolled out initiatives aimed at bolstering start-ups and spurring diversity in tech.
With half of the world’s population under 30 years old, young people have the tools to create new ventures and “help lift up entire populations”, the president said. Auino-Mwandingi added that summits such as GES offer a great platform for innovators and entrepreneurs to gain exposure and learn about what the rest of the world is up to through direct engagement with people one would never have access to. “In today’s world, where our economies have undergone dramatic shifts, where businesses don’t stop at borders, where technology and automation have transformed virtually every industry and changed how people organize and work, entrepreneurship remains the engine of growth”.
Attendees have heard from USA government officials as well as prominent tech leaders, including Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Google co-founder Sergey Brin, Secretary of State John Kerry, Uber chief executive officer Travis Kalanick, and Airbnb co-founder Brian Chesky.
Obama was scheduled to participate in a Google Portal virtual conversation after noon alongside entrepreneurs at the university, and was scheduled to leave the Bay Area at 1:35 p.m. from Moffett Federal Airfield in Mountain View. “To me, entrepreneurship is about creating change, not just creating companies”.
