The Rift headset will include built-in headphones and mic and come packaged with a sensor and an Xbox One controller. Oculus Touch controllers are not included as those have been delayed to 2H 2016.

Well not anymore! Buying an Oculus Rift headset will cost you a cool $599, according to the preorder website, and the devices are set to ship in March of this year.

On February, Oculus will also offer bundles that include the VR headset and an Oculus-ready gaming PC with a starting price of $1,499. As has previously been noted, all pre-orders will come with “EVE: Valkyrie” and “Lucky’s Tale”.

So if your PC is not up to spec you’ll have some upgrading to do. If you backed the Rift on Kickstarter (and spent enough for a development kit), you don’t need to worry – Oculus is giving you a consumer edition for free.

Are you looking forward to the Oculus Rift or has the price put you off?

Before pre-ordering the Rift from the Oculus Store, customers can check to see if their PCs meet the requirements for the device.
