Oculus Rift Customers Will Get 4 Months Unity Pro Trial
Oculus has announced its partners will soon be taking pre-orders for discounted gaming PCs that come bundled with Oculus’s long-awaited Rift virtual reality gaming headset. The bundles, which will include an Oculus-ready PC and a Rift VR headset, were announced on the Oculus Blog on February 9.

The virtual reality head-mounted display Oculus Rift CV1 is displayed at the Annual Gaming Industry Conference E3 at the Los Angeles Convention Center on June 16, 2015 in Los Angeles, California. Oculus Rift’s rival product, HTC Vive, will use the AMD graphics card over Nvidia GeForce as its optimum-compatible PC, while HP Envy Phoenix, houses the Radeon card as a standard option. The cheapest bundle is that above-mentioned Asus with the Rift for $1,499.
Oculus founder Palmer Luckey helped to open Unity’s first Vision VR and AR event by revealing the deal, which will offer a four-month trial of Unity Pro – worth approximately $300 (£208) – to Rift owners.
Of course, “Oculus Ready” is just a marketing certification for vendors selling systems that meet or exceed the required specs-you can build your own PC to run with Rift.
The full details on the first Oculus Ready PCs can be seen in the images below, straight from Oculus’ website. In January, Oculus began taking preorders for its $599 Oculus Rift virtual reality headsets, which will ship starting in May.
“Also including that Australia is one of those 20 countries which slated to receive the first lot of the Oculus Rifts when they will be shipped on March 28”.
With shipping included, the Oculus Rift costs $914 CAD. February 16 at 8am Pacific Time marks the date when consumers can pre-order these bundles from various retailers, and the costs start at the $1499 mark.
Do you have VR on the brain? With Remote, you can easily browse the Oculus store, explore 360 video content in Oculus Video, or experience a wide range of VR games and entertainment.

Luckey maintains that if people do for VR what mobile developers did for mobile games “they’re going to be successful and they’re going to be able to pay their bills”.
