In addition to the base package, Rift pre-orders also include access to EVE: Valkyrie through the Founder’s Pack, which comes with exclusive in-game content, founder status in Valkyrie, and “much more”.

And long term, I believe virtual reality has the potential to change the way we live, work and communicate in many ways.

All those who backed the Oculus Rift on Kickstarter in 2012 and received a developer’s kit will received a free Kickstarter edition of the Oculus Rift, the company said yesterday.

At launch, the headset will ship to 20 countries; the Rift will also be available in select retail locations starting in April. You’ll also get the Oculus Remote which can be used to easily browse the Oculus store, watch 360 video content, and play certain VR games.

Just over three years ago, Palmer Luckey started a new business called Oculus with the mission that it would bring affordable virtual reality to the masses.

Take the Oculus Rift test now and let us know if you have the hardware to support the VR headset properly. In the second half of 2016, Oculus will add Oculus Touch motion controllers for more advanced games featuring motion, The Verge reports. As shown in the screenshot below, the headset costs $599 plus shipping in United States, the same goes to £499 in United Kingdom. Gamers will get a wired headset, a camera that you’ll place on a desk or wall to help track your head movements, and a Microsoft Xbox One gamepad.
