“As a small token of our appreciation for your support, all Kickstarter backers who pledged for a Rift development kit will get a free Kickstarter Edition Oculus Rift“, Oculus announced via Kickstarter.

The Oculus Rift itself goes up for pre-order tomorrow, January 6, however, still don’t know its price.

We’re assuming the “everything you need to know” part will include the price, which has yet to be revealed, though we have some idea that it’ll be around the $300 price point.

Oculus Rift will launch later this year, sometime within the first six months, and it will be available for pre-ordering on January 8.

Last week, Oculus said it won’t release its handheld sensor for the Rift, the Oculus Touch, until the second half of 2016.

Oculus founder Palmer Luckey will also do a Q&A on social media site Reddit on Wednesday. Since then, though, the company has singularly failed to actually launch its much-anticipated commercial VR headset, instead concentrating on its developer kit hardware.

An update to the Oculus blog announced the delay stating that the team needed additional time for development. Every Rift will ship with free copies of the games “Lucky’s Tale” and “EVE: Valkyrie”, the company said Monday.
