Oculus started letting people preorder the device through its website on Wednesday as well; it won’t start shipping to buyers until March 28.

The Oculus Remote features a trackpad and a few buttons to help you navigate VR experiences and 360 videos, browse the Oculus store and play games.

But Luckey also pointed to previous comments in which Oculus had described the all-in cost of a Rift and capable PC as “around $1500 combined”. Oculus, one of the biggest names in the game, is opening preorders of its highly anticipated virtual-reality headset this week. Oculus Studios expects to roll out 20 of its own games this year, including a virtual reality version of Rock Band and the action-adventure game Edge of Nowhere. It also includes a free game: Lucky’s Tale. Oculus Touch controllers are not included as those have been delayed to 2H 2016.

Those who pre-order the headset should receive it by the end of March.

Of course, that’s assuming you’ve got a PC with enough horsepower to support the Oculus Rift. But before you go out and order one, you might want to take a glimpse into your bank account first. The most recent developer kit, the DK2, sold for $350, and Luckey stated that the consumer Rift will carry a higher price tag. Just two years later, the startup was bought by Facebook for $2 billion. Luckily, potential buyers can download a Rift compatibility tool from Oculus to check if their machine needs an upgrade.
