Odell Beckham Jr. My Behavior Was Embarrassing … I Apologize
New York Giants punter Brad Wing says Odell Beckham Jr. was threatened by an unidentified bat-wielding man dressed in Carolina Panthers sweats during pre-game warmups Sunday. Giants coach Tom Coughlin delivered a staunch defense of Beckham on Wednesday morning during his weekly press conference, saying Beckham was not the only person in the wrong and the way the situation is being depicted “is not justice.” And yesterday, Beckham said that he’s subject to that kind of thing from opposing players on a weekly basis. “If you are naive enough to think that way, you better do some soul searching”.

Coughlin insisted that, although Beckham was provoked, his reaction was wrong. You as a player and coach have to know that and know when to reign it in and when to be smart and is some cases when to just flat out stop it. It’s one of the things that we talked about.
The Panthers (14-0) play the Falcons (7-7) at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Georgia Dome.
“I mean, he had a baseball bat”, Wing added in comments to reporters Wednesday, per The New York Post. He’s a star. I wonder why people are going in that direction. Coughlin said he spoke to Beckham before the suspension was announced. Norman called Beckham a “bitch” after the game and said that it’s “fine” if Beckham wants to “dance and prance around like a ballerina”, but that he’s not tough and shouldn’t try to be something he’s not.
Coughlin said Beckham was not exclusively to blame for his series of on-field confrontations with Carolina cornerback Josh Norman during the Giants’ loss Sunday to the Panthers at the Meadowlands.
“I’m a little disappointed in it, to be quite honest”, Rivera said.
A Giants source told ESPN, “that Giants players on the field heard Panthers defensive players direct anti-gay slurs and expletives at Beckham before the game”.

Beckham drew three personal foul penalties and targeted Norman on a helmet-to-helmet collision, something that has led to Beckham being suspended for the Giants’ Week 16 game against the Minnesota Vikings, pending the outcome of his mid-week appeal. I just don’t feel like that’s a part of the game that should be played. Norman will appeal the fines on the basis that he was provoked by Beckham. Beckham’s history and temper has preceded him, and he’ll likely struggle to get on the NFL’s good side from here on out unless he changes his ways.
