Odell Beckham Jr.’s One-Game Suspension Upheld, Will Miss Giants-Vikings
The New York Giants wide receiver was suspended for one game following his actions against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

Appeals officer James Thrash upheld Beckham’s suspension Wednesday.
Beckham received three personal fouls and was given a one game suspension, with just about everyone agreeing he should have been ejected from the game long before he head-butted Norman in one particularly nasty late-game play.
For all the complicated questions the Panthers’ possible use of homophobic slurs prompts, the baseball bat situation has a simple solution: No more bats on the field.
An altercation with Ball was caught on video, but clearly wasn’t an excuse for Beckham conducting himself so wildly during the game.
Beckham is not allowed to attend practices or have any contact with the Giants, apart from arrangements for off-site medical procedures or physical therapy, until his reinstatement on Monday.
Multiple reports of Odell Beckham Jr. winning his Wednesday appeal proved to be false.
Giants punter Brad Wing saw the interaction between teammate Odell Beckham Jr. and bat-wielding Panthers safety Marcus Ball before the two teams faced each other Sunday.
“The only thing I’ll say about the incident that occurred the other day in the game…is the fact that to depict this as Odell Beckham being wrong, and the only one wrong, is not right”, Coughlin said. Norman took a swing at Beckham just prior to the helmet-to-helmet hit, before breaking off to try to make a tackle.
Norman ultimately got off light, however, in his battle with Beckham, whose suspension is a huge blow for a Giants team still fighting for a playoff spot.
“If there is something out there that is factual, that there is truth or hard evidence, please present it to us as well so we can act accordingly”, Rivera said.
“I don’t even know if there’s any disciplinary actions for referees, but I think they at least have to have a talking to just to know in future games, you can stop that before it gets to that point”. If his suspension is overturned, Beckham will still likely be hit with a hefty fine. “But there were factors involved, starting in pregame, which are well-documented, which indicates there was an attempt to provoke him”, Coughlin told reporters.

Coughlin insisted that, although Beckham was provoked, his reaction was wrong.
