Mourinho to accept 50% pay cut for Manchester United job
Overall, Van Gaal’s side has won only three of their past 13 matches, and have scored just 11 goals in that period. Van Gaal is facing a desperate battle to beat the sack following a woeful run of six games without a win.

The NFL has suspended New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. for one game for his conduct in Sunday’s loss to Carolina in which he drew three personal foul penalties. One Giants source said the receiver was unnerved by the fact that one Panther carried a baseball bat onto the field during warmups, a bat that found its way into cornerback Josh Norman’s hands.

‘Britain should stay in European Union for national security’ – Cameron warns
Cameron’s goal is to form an agreement at a February 18-19 summit and hold a referendum a few months later. The European Council president Donald Tusk called the dinner “a make-or-break moment”.

His teammates and coaches spent their Monday conference calls trying to put out the fire, ahead of whatever possible league-sanctioned punishment comes Beckham’s way.

Conor McGregor completes UFC takeover
McGregor could fight on the inaugural card in NY on April 23 if mixed martial arts is legalised in the state before then. McGregor had predicted he would beat Aldo in the first round in the build-up to the fight .

“If that’s the star player you want – he’s all yours”, Francesa said.

“These last two games are division opponents, and we’ll be in a hostile environment in Atlanta”, Newton added. “When we get to that game, we’ll cross that bridge”.

Beckham, 23, is the first Giants player ever suspended for on-field actions. Coughlin could have yanked Beckham from the game, although that admittedly would have been hard with so much-perhaps including Coughlin’s job-on the line.

The league has spoken and Odell Beckham Jr. will likely miss Week 16 against Minnesota.

Nope, he hasn’t done any of that… yet.

His hit on Norman could have left Norman with a concussion, just as helmet-to-helmet hits by defensive backs on defenseless receivers during the course of play could result in such head injuries.

If he’s not careful, he will suffer the same fate as the ultimate diva wideouts of this generation: Terrell Owens, Randy Moss and Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson: Big numbers, very entertaining, no Super Bowl championship rings.

But the Giants still have a chance to make things right. I got Cam’s number, I don’t have Josh Norman’s number, because we need to squash this mess right now. Hanks specifically pointed to a late helmet-to-helmet hit against a defenseless player in which Beckham left his feet prior to contact to spring forward and upward into his opponent (Norman); lowered his helmet and initiated forcible contact with his helmet; and forcibly struck the defenseless player’s head. It appears that way. But what fans got was one immature, violent act after another.

The Giants saw their playoff hopes take another hit, but not before OBJ took several swings at Norman in a heated matchup that quickly got out of control and only got worse. It was a risky play that could have caused serious harm to both players.

Giants coach Tom Coughlin said Sunday that he gave “strong consideration” to benching Beckham at one point for his lack of composure on the field, but the coach spoke highly of his hugely talented player on Monday.

Empty words that are now only appropriate when it suits his agenda.

“That’s a insane spectrum of possibilities”, Denver tight end Owen Daniels said. But I will defend the young man, and the quality of the person.

According to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, Beckham apparently believed the Panthers were threatening to end his day by wielding the bat in front of the Giants’ sideline in his presence.

It’s not uncommon for National Football League teams to have baseball bats on the field. That’s a failure of Panthers coach Ron Rivera and the game officials to allow that around high-strung athletes.
