Officer Shot in Georgia While Chasing Suspects

Two officers were chasing the robbery suspects when the suspects crashed into a gas station in Tucker, a city of 27,500 people about 20 miles northeast of Atlanta, DeKalb County Police Chief Cedric Alexander said. Both suspects face charges of aggravated assault on a police officer and felony obstruction.

Authorities did not release the names, genders, or races of either the officer or the suspects.

“These officers did an extraordinary job today”, Alexander said.

One suspect was caught at the scene with a firearm.

Alexander said that neither suspect was shot and that the shootout was a part of an on-going investigation.
