Mississippi State isn’t far behind, averaging about 35 points per game.

But most of the Rebels’ quarterback’s teammates call MS home, and that’s not lost on him. Less than two complete seasons into his Ole Miss career, Haynes has already collected a total of five SEC weekly honors.

The University of Mississippi Police Department has asked the Federal Bureau of Investigation to conduct an independent investigation of the incident involving a temporary officer and a fan during the Ole Miss-LSU football game on November 21. But Chad Kelly of Ole Miss has been right there in terms of success with 25 touchdown passes, over 3,500 yards, and nine rushing scores.

Dak Prescott was able to give MSU’s offense a spark when he came off the bench in the fourth quarter, and his 4th down touchdown run in overtime proved to be the game victor after Bo Wallace fumbled at the goal line the following possession. Kelly said he’s ready to experience first-hand what those in his own locker room are trying their best to convey – Saturday’s meeting between Ole Miss and Mississippi State is no ordinary game. But Prescott was cleared to play in time for the Egg Bowl.

He immediately turned around and saw us standing up and screamed, “Throw them out, ‘” Brandon Herring said.

The Rebels will need to continue that level of defensive play this week if they wish to win in Starkville for the first time since 2003.

“He strikes me as a guy with great mental toughness, and knows what he wants and will have a plan to go about achieving that”, Freeze said.

Couple that with the dual-threat capabilities of quarterback Chad Kelly, and Ole Miss is tough to defend.

“It’s going to be a great game though”, Treadwell added. The Rebel attack has thrown for 300 yards or more against everyone but Florida, LSU and Texas A&M, and even in those games the passing game worked well. On Wednesday, Mike Farrell broke down the wide receivers, which had Ole Miss’ Laquon Treadwell at the top of the board. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound junior caught a touchdown for the sixth straight game against LSU and leads the SEC in receptions (72) and yards (1,060). He’s in line for a big paycheck with a hight selection in this year’s National Football League draft. Gates has been rotating with Nkemdiche at the Stinger, or outside, position and has been producing all year. The victor of this year’s game could be the team with the high-profile quarterback that plays the best.

The strength of MSU’s defense lies in the front seven, and the front four for Ole Miss. He enrolled at UM in January 2015 and went with Rebels head coach Hugh Freeze on a spring-break mission trip to Haiti. His 55 stops are third-most on the team.
