Official Friday the 13th game hits Kickstarter

It was decided to make this a Friday the 13th game after franchise creator Sean Cunningham reached out to the development team. The horror flick became a media sensation, with the silent killer in a hockey mask becoming a cultural icon.

Though the fundraiser that could determine Friday the 13th: The Game’s future is just getting underway, this group of Voorhees fanatics knows that you never slow down or look back, and are “firing on all cylinders” according to Greenbeck.

Jason Voorhees is coming. With 7 camp counselors trying to survive and escape, it can be a race against the clock for Jason to eliminate them quickly. This proposed mode would put the player in control of Jason. This can be done through brutal kills like slamming someone into a rack of farm spikes, or smashing faces into trees.

If you’re anxious this isn’t legit, the team has recruited original “Friday the 13th” director Sean Cunningham to help them craft the game and make sure it’s as close to the movie version as possible.

In an odd coincidence, Friday the 13th creator Sean S. Cunningham revealed the existence of an official game based on the series roughly a month before Slasher surfaced. The ultimate Friday the 13th experience.

The already vast Friday the 13th franchise is about to get a little bit bigger.

It definitely sounds like an interesting idea, and the developer has suggested that it’s adopting a crowd funding model to stay true to the spirit of the original movies.

Another unique feature is the fear system. Once the community and fans decide if they really want single player, we can slowly start to define what that experience will be like.

For $25 early birds can reserve a Friday the 13th download code for PS4, Xbox One or PC upon its estimated October 2016 release.

Ronnie Hobbs: Well, I can tell you that we now have Tommy Jarvis and Pamela Voorhees both as Stretch Goals on our Kickstarter campaign, but how we are going to implement them is still being kept a secret. “This is a staple of slasher films and something we’ve yet to see fully realized in the video game industry”.

For the first time in more than twenty-five years, Friday the 13th is returning to the video game world.

As Jason, you can act out nightmare-inducing murders and, rather disturbingly, the Kickstarter page described examples in detail. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
