The Beaver Creek Fire has blackened more than 37,000 acres since it started June 19, burning mostly beetle-kill timber as well as a cabin and several outbuildings. The fire also jumped across a road Monday evening, burning about a mile north of summer cottages. Firefighters said they were able to complete a 20-mile fireline with burnouts to control the southern edge of the fire along Succor Creek Road.
