Offline route to comprise 20-30% of sales in India: Xiaomi
The rumored device could either be the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, or the Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime, which appeared on Amazon India for a brief time. As for the front of the device, it is expected to have a slight 2.5D curve along its edges but there is no word of a bigger curve on its back panel, as well as whether or not, it will be crafted from glass. It looks like Xiaomi is all geared up to boost its retail presence in India with wider availability in physical retail stores. The pricing however, has not been disclosed on the device’s product page on Amazon India.
While Xiaomi’s August 13 event is nearing, another piece of news surrounding a smartphone from the company’s stables has hit the Internet. The only difference on the spec sheet seems to be the amount of RAM and storage available on the newer variant. Other specifications are same as that of the Redmi 2. So it is no surprise that Xiaomi, the market leader in China, is expected to bring out the Michigan 5 and Michigan 5 Plus at its upcoming MIUI 7 event which is scheduled to take place on August. 13. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 410 MSM8916 SoC from Qualcomm, and comes with an embedded quad-core 64-bit CPU clocked at a frequency of 1.2 GHz and an Adreno 306 GPU.

The handset’s inbuilt storage can also be expanded via microSD card (up to 32GB). Xiaomi have fitted a 2,200mAh battery to the Redmi 2 Prime and pre-installed Android 4.4.4 with MIUI 6 on the device.
