Ohio bill targets grant money going to Planned Parenthood
“CNN spent more than 10 minutes pressing GOP candidates about Planned Parenthood during the previous debate – but moderators couldn’t bear to mention the abortion giant once during Tuesday’s Democratic primary debate”, the article begins.

OK, it’s kind of about abortion.
Many of those opposed to the bill told personal stories of their visits to Planned Parenthood centers and the services it has provided for cancer screenings, preventative care and sexually transmitted diseases.
Since selling fetal tissue samples is illegal, Planned Parenthood has been quick to label the transactions as reimbursement costs and that they were made only at a tiny fraction of the organization’s 700 clinics and affiliates. Jindal spokesman Mike Reed said, “Instead of going through the same administrative review as any other Medicaid provider, they are running to the federal courts and asking for special treatment”.
“Despite their efforts to distort the truth, health care – no matter what – is what happens at Planned Parenthood”, she said.
“In closing those clinics, the state of Texas is declaring war on women’s health care”, Jackson Lee said.
“Organizations that have a much more pro-life and pro-birth attitude towards legislation and the world than Planned Parenthood has”. “This is not our battle – get the young people involved”. To date, all investigations have found no wrongdoing on the part of Planned Parenthood. But, he emphasized that the move to cut off Medicaid money was based on other factors. The bill would block, for one year, at least 89% of federal payments to Planned Parenthood. We don’t have $17 billion lying around-not without tax increases. If you’re wondering why, state lawmakers actually studied the possibility back in 2010 and the results were ugly. Not to mention the loss of health coverage for millions.
The bill would not affect federal dollars that go directly to the clinics. “It will just be spread out better, in our opinion, throughout the state”.
This one comes with a major caveat: We don’t know exactly what evidence the state possesses. And that may well be.
What do you think of Texas’ latest decision to stop Planned Parenthood from receiving Medicaid funds? Planned Parenthood recently has been audited in nine states, with all nine showing overbilling. These allegations largely stem from a 2009 whistleblower suit by a former clinic worker who accused PPGC of fraudulent billing.
Abbott, Texas’ former attorney general, praised health officials for the decision.
“It is absolutely outrageous that mainstream media stations such as ABC, NBC and CBS have chosen not to report on the disturbing undercover Planned Parenthood videos which depict the trafficking of infant body parts in the United States”, Gohmert said. That seems kind of thin.
“We will go to court because the rights of these women are paramount and superior to making choices for what is politically expedient”, Jackson Lee said.

State health officials, at the behest of Gov. Greg Abbott, have given Planned Parenthood 30 days notice on its intent to strip the women’s health care provider of the ability the ability to treat to poorest women in the state, who often find themselves in crisis or simply need a low-priced way to get medical care so they can continue to support their families.
