Ohio gas prices stay below $2, though up from week ago

The price dip in ME follows a national decrease of more than two cents, down to an average of $1.80 per gallon.

“February looks to start the month with gasoline prices averaging under $1.80 a gallon nationally, the lowest level since January 16, 2009”, said Patrick DeHaan, GasBuddy.com senior petroleum analyst.

Residents of Pennsylvania will appreciate the dipping price, as they pay the highest gasoline taxes in the country.

But over the past five years, gas prices have gone up during February about 27 cents in Florida and 29 cents across the U.S. Florida’s average gas prices for February 2015 were $2.28.

As of 4 p.m. Friday, the average price in Allentown had dropped to $1.979.

Experts believe you’ll likely save about 10 percent on your natural gas bills compared to previous year.

The average price for a gallon of gas is continuing its downward spiral in Nevada, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 1,130 gas outlets across the state.

The average price of gas in the Fort Wayne area went up 5 cents last week, to an average of $1.64 a gallon, GasBuddy.com said today.

OH drivers are still seeing gas pump prices below $2 despite a slight increase over the past week in the average price for a gallon of regular fuel. Oil closed Friday on the New York Mercantile Exchange at $33.25 a barrel.

DeHaan says some refiners have already begun some winter maintenance.

Gas dips below $2 in Pennsylvania
